The Songwriter

Ronnie grew up listening to country music legends like Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. Even as a kid, he was always drawn to the lyrics of songs. He can remember buying Garth Brooks CDs in the 90s, putting on headphones, and reading every lyric while listening to the albums. In the 2000s he became a big fan of Texas country music. It was the guys like Pat Green and Robert Earl Keen that made him want to start putting his own lyrics to songs. He wrote his first song on the beach of South Padre Island, TX one summer night "sometime between the bar closing and the sun coming up." Since then he has written over 100 songs, including songs for his band Vidalia and several other artists. Check out the spotify playlist of songs he has written or co-written that have been released.

VIDALIA

In 2014, Ronnie recruited two of his good friends, Charlie Hugg and Matt Tortorich, to form the band Vidalia. They were active from 2014-2018, where they scored two top 25 albums (#11 and #24) on the iTunes Country Music Albums Chart, a #3 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, had there music played in LSU's Tiger Stadium before football games, accumulated over 5 million streams, and several other accomplishments. The band was listed on 225 Magazine's People to Watch list in 2017. After several events in each of their lives, they decided to step away from the world of traveling, constant studio work, and writing to focus on other areas of life.
